With the recent release of Wordpress 2.3.2, we all have begin to upgrade to keep up to date and with latest from Wordpress. With the continuing evolution of Wordpress this will become a regular part of our blogging administration.
Wordpress Automatic Upgrade plugin will automatically upgrade your Wordpress version from wordpress.org using 5 simple steps provided in the upgrade instructions without needing to upload or download any files.
A good feature is it will automatically make backups your current file and database and provides you with a link back to these download. It will also de-activates your plugins and remembers them so that after upgrading files it will re-activate them afterwards.
Here is what WPAU does;
1. Backs up the files and makes available a link to download it.
2. Backs up the database and makes available a link to download it.
3. Downloads the latest files from http://wordpress.org/latest.zip and unzips it.
4. Puts the site in maintenance mode.
5. De-activates all active plugins and remembers it.
6. Upgrades wordpress files.
7. Gives you a link that will open in a new window to upgrade installation.
8. Re-activates the plugins.
