This is my last post in the mini series on the social networking and micro blogging site called Twitter, so let’s recap on my first two posts. In the first post about Twitter we have discussed what is twitter?, how too set up your twitter account and how to add your blog RSS feed to Twitter. In the second post about Twitter we looked at how to follow others and be followed by others.Today we looking at tweaks that can improve our experience with Twitter and find out who’s in the hall of fame for twitter.

Most of todays post will be based around our setting page. After we have logged into our accounts, at the top riight corner you will see our setting tab, click on it and you will be transported to your setting page.

Now at the account page we are able to set our basic settings, first we see”more info URL”, this is where you add your URL of your blog which will later be displyed on your profile page. This will come with a no follow link too, so it’s good to get a high quality back link here.

Next we can add a 160 character bio on to your Twitter account which you can display your purpose for your blog or anything else you like say. Followed by adding your location and clicking on whether you like “protect your twitters”, this is to allow people to invisible in the public timeline. I made the decision to unchecked mine as I would like people from the public timeline to drop by.

The next 3 tabs are fairly straight forward in ” Password, phone and IM, and notices”. For notices you may want look at checking most of the boxes as they will deliver a lot of the updates and info to you directly.

The next tab is the picture, here’s whether your unique image which is called the avator which will be inserted within the twitter profile , having a unique picture will help as any twitter or feed you add to your blog will display this avator, so you need to stand out in the crowd and your unique avator will help.

The last tab is the “design tab”, In this tab we have the option to change the colors or even add a background picture, using the picture as a background can be difficult as not all pictures will suit the design and layout. I have added my home page as the background picture.

I just recently joined Twitter. I see it as useful for me to keep in touch with some of my Net friends, but also as a way to keep both my customers and blog readers informed (”Unavailable today” type of posts)
