Regaining your Passion for your Blog
If you're new here, you may want to browse my articles and if you like them please subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
We have been there done that, got too a point where you have hit the wall, where you lose interest or maybe just to busy with other commitments. Then you start to fall in the “spiral of death” you will begin to stop posting for a few days, which then materializes into weeks, people stop commenting on your blog and the statistics start to drop too. You begin to question is it worth it? Then it’s too late the blog is dead.
Bet you have heard this a few times before or have experienced it yourself?
You just need that energy kick to get the blog moving again, and once its up and running it will all fall into place.
Reward yourself. If you reach your milestone treat yourself accordingly. Whether it’s going out to your favorite restaurant, buying something you want from your blog earnings. Celebrating your goals is recognizing that you are doing well which in turn will give more motivation to achieve more.
Set a new goal. Linked to above, once you have reached your goal , more the peg higher to push yourself more, whether you want increase your earning by 25% or increase RSS feeds by 30 people. You set the goals and you work towards them.
Have a blog make over. If you are getting stick of the layout or design then its maybe time to alter it. This can come in many shapes and sizes from different template or maybe adding a widget. I did this a month ago by changing my blog design completely and have enjoyed my blogging more since and have not got frustrated like last time. I believe this new design has improved my viewer’s reading which has made them come back, which increases my statistics which in turn made me happy. So this one really works.
Monitor your blog’s growth. I post my monthly updates and from there I can see the progress of my blog, you will be surprised by the changes too. Seeing these give me the sense of achievement so far and the motivation to try harder.
Read old posts. This helps you remember why you begin blogging, maybe go back to your first post again and read your mission, or dreams when you started your blog and recap and refresh yourself on why you are here.
These points above help you look at what you have done and where you have been and of course mark your achievements and highlights, use these to drive you forward with more energy and then you may see your old blog as a new blog again….

a blog make over really good point..sometime good looking blog can attract reader attention. for me blog design is the reader first impression. sometime first impression count too. if you notice currently all the top blogger already make a new blog make over.
As i said in my post, i have done a blog make over and found a huge difference in traffic to my blog, my only regret was not doing it earlier.
Always be on the move to set higher goals and standards. That is one sure way to keep you motivated.
And that part about rewarding yourself on the way. That is important too!
