Ok, its that time in a blogs life where you need to do the “Contest Post”, its my first time so be gentle with me. I am starting my first contest with a rather simple one which will be comment based. So its called the”Comment Contest”.
I seen this contest on darin.cc a while ago and felt it’s a good one to reward my loyal readers who regularly comment on my blog and yet at the same time get new people to participate in the discussion on my posts.
Current comments is 192…
The rules are as below:
- Any spam comments will be removed from my posts.
- For every 100 comments the prize money increase by $10
- 200 Comments i’ll PayPal $20, for 300 Comments i’ll PayPal $30, for 400 Comments i’ll PayPal $40, for 500 Comments i’ll PayPal $50 you get the idea.
- EXAMPLE: On the 20th Dec 07 , i have a total of 452 comments i will give the prize to the person who wrote the 400th comment, likewise if i get 699 comments i will give the prize to the person who wrote the 600th comment. So basically the higher the comments the more I pay…. So make me broke for Christmas.
- Winner needs to do short write up with proof of payment, after contest closes with a link back to his contest page
The success of the contest lies with my Readers so don’t let me fail on my first attempt
The last day of competition will be on the 20th Dec 07 just before Christmas so this money will come in handy for the Christmas shopping….
Last Minute Additional Christmas Twist:
An additional $40 will be given for a write up about my contest on your blog, does not need to be any 300 word monster but i don’t mind. I need just a 100 word write up with a link to the contest page and one to my home page. This will be based on a lucky draw system. After completing drop me a email to admin@yeepage.com.

How do you win? Is it the 100th, or 200th or 300th person wins depending how far up you go?

Basically as you said the higher the comments go the higher the pay, so if on 20th Dec 07 there is 449 comments then the winner will be 400th comment.
So its basically the last man standing who wins. the last comment on the Dec 20 wins. I predict that on Dec 20 alone you will recieve 100 comments in the half hour before the contest ends.

I cut off the competition on 20th Dec 07, but the winner may have posted a few days earlier, but the visitors will not know the result until 21st Dec 07.

If I’m not mistaken, you’re counting the votes not only from this post but including the preceding comments on the other posts as well. This could me more meaningful so the commenters will not have an an idea who is winning and who are not.
But this is an exciting idea afterall. I’ll blog about this in a few hours.
