Do you have loads of advertising space but are unable to fill it? If so it probably means you are wasting your prime real estate on your blog to blank spaces, it like having a prime piece of real estate in New York or London and not being able to rent it out which earns zero income where as a when it rented out it earns you good money
That what’s basically your advertising is it rental for your prime real estate, so I give you a few techniques’s to help rent out your space.
Two for the price of one. Don’t just sell advertising spaces, offer a 2 for 1 promo, you can either attach a free gift to the advertising space, or maybe offer a review of their site as well as an advertising spot. An example could be a banner 125×125 selling for $15 and if you are the first 5 customers you will get a free 100 word review of your site.
Run a contest. Not to give away your advertising for free, then it will not help you right now, but you can give away free lucky draws to people who purchase an advertising spot, who then can win prizes at a later date. Again the prize could be an review or if you earn enough maybe e a cash prize or more.
Discounts for bulk purchases. If they purchase more than one month at a time or lets say 4 month package they get a 20% discount off the normal price. Good pro from this is you get the cash upfront for the months ahead. Or maybe if they buy an review and a banner advert they get 25% off the second purchase.
Contact other Webmasters. Go look for popular bloggers and offer them a special deal for an advertisement spot, whether its first month at 50% off or what ever deal you like, others will see their banner or logo, this will encourage others to pay to be next to them. Image what it be like to have Probloggers or John Chow advert on your blog, and trust me others will want to pay you money to be next to them.
There are many combinations to this and you see the idea that nowadays there’s to much advertising in the Blogosphere with every webmaster trying sell their blogs, so you need to be creative and generally offer more than the regular package of just the advertising spot.
