How to get more RSS subscribers

Having a high RSS feed is probably the most important statistic when judging a successful blog in terms of readership. Generally with good content which in return will give you good traffic will mean an increase of subscribers.

Here’s some ways to get increase your RSS subscribers:

Add an RSS button at the top of your site above the scroll line, additional buttons can be added at ends of posts and strategic places in your website. Options of second button for comments can also be added, but don’t over do the buttons.
Offer a bonus or free gift if they sign up for your RSS feed, leave a link in your footer within your feed.
Always offer the full feed
Use a subscriber counter to show how many readers you have, preferable to show your feedburner when you reach over 100 subscribers. This will show a visitor how popular you are. BTW I am currently sitting between 70 and 105 , so subscribe to my site and keep me above the magic 100.

How to lose RSS subscribers

Now you have got the subscribers, its time not to lose them. Here’s some points to beware off:

· Publish quality content and don’t RSS feed tons of rubbish to your readers
· Keep your topics consistent, your reader may have signed you because of your blogging tips so don’t go and change to sporting events.
· Don’t just do paid to post articles and copy blog content, be original.
· Write content that is suitable to your ability, keep it short and simple and avoid writing big articles if you don’t have the content. Use simple grammar and layouts to break down your article and make it readable to all.
· By posting in irregular intervals, you should try keep a steady flow of articles, I personally publish mine at the same time every day, at 11:59 just before lunch in Singapore

sometime ask the reader to subscribe the feed also one of the method that can be use. I use “what would seth godin do” w/p plugin where the plugin will display a welcome message to new visitor and ask them to subscribe to your RSS feed. Maybe it’s look like a shameless promotion but it work.

Don’t just do paid to post articles and copy blog content, be original.This is totally true.I try to do mine one time at a go but i will also post an original article too.
