If you are a regular reader of Yeepage.com or maybe your first visit you will notice the blue circle and its count which increase when the people vote for me on Sphinn (Sigh - which till to date has not gone well), but that’s about to change with this post I have a feeling…So far I have Sphinn many articles but with little success so I have began to analyzes the Sphinn website and what will make a post reach the hot topics page.
This can be broken down in to 5 key areas:
Rant about Sphinn
Sounds simple? Like any social network write about it or negative abut its competitors. So write a cool article about Sphinn and you probably find a few Sphinn just for that a sbloggers who gather in Sphinn will support the Sphinn culture
Timing is everything
I‘ve been working on timing for a while and previously I would submit anytime of the day, you may wonder why this so but its because when your article hits the “what’s new page” you need to gain enough Sphinn’s to look like a serious front page player.
So with some adjustments I have found around midnight Singapore time (which is +8 hours GMT which is approximate +12 hours east standard time) to be the best time because the theory goes like this.
When I Sphin the article at midnight what’s around mid afternoon in Europe I will gain a hand full of sphinn’s, from here to give the
Get superstars to Sphinn You
The likes of Dosh Dosh, Jeff Quipp, Andy Beard or several others seem to have the ability to pick the winners , not sure whether its just they can see quality articles or it’s their reputation that makes the articles reach the tops.
Submit High Profile Blog Articles
If you don’t want your article but just your profile to hit front page you can do the reverse and Sphinn articles from popular sites, the blogs like Problogger, shoemoney, dosh dosh and Courtney tuttle
Submit Great Content
Seems to be on every list that everyone does about anything but its true, so submit quality articles as that will pay off over time.
Heres a few other areas that I have not looked at today could be used:
- Interesting Article headlines
- Sphinn’s from your readers thru your blog
- Sphinn back scratching

Will try to look what is Sphinn is all about, never use it before simon.
Good tips … especially the part about sphinning the posts from high profile blogs. I’ll admit I haven’t really investigated sphinn yet. But I do like the concept … my current stats page is nothing but peaks and valleys due to stumbleupon spikes .. would be very cool to add the same thing from different sources.
Good tips Simon, I think the one about the time zone is really true. I will have to experiment with that and find out what the best time is. Looking forward to more great posts.
