How to tease your blog readers and gain more page views

When you see this picture your first instinct is to want to see more and its a good way to tease your readers and get there attention, but today i want explain an easier and better way to tease your readers to read more.
Why do you want to tease my readers?
Because from my own personal experience when i browse other blogs with the teasers is that I’m getting more intrigued by the article and will actually click to read the full story, also an additional bonus is you can easily get more than one article at a time on your screen without scrolling.
Important Reasons:
- You’ll be able to attract more reader clicks on your page, thus increasing your Alexa Rating.
- As I mentioned above, by reducing the article length on your homepage, your older posts become visible as well. Therefore, if your first post on the page didn’t attract the reader, you still have other chances to get the readers interest with the subsequent articles.
- If you get users to click on “read more”, it means that you’ve written something interesting enough to capture the readers attention.
- and last, but not least, as the blog writer you’ll be forced to write effective introductions to your posts, otherwise no one will click to read more.
As you can see, I’ve already implemented the “teasing technique” on my blog for a while and is simple to set up. So here’s how:
- If you have the Rich Visual Text Editor ON, then you can split your post by clicking on the icon next to the image icon, with two little white rectangles:

This way you will separate the post at any point you like, and generate a teaser on your home page.
- If you turned OFF the Rich Visual Text Editor, then with typing you can achieve the same effect by simply inserting
<!–more–>wherever you’d like to insert the teaser.
That was simple enough, wasn’t it? Now, you can tease your readers too…

Teasing is becoming the norm on a lot of blogs. Of course the trick is to find new and interesting pictures to post.

Do remember that wordpress 2.2 and above cut off your RSS feeds at the separator so be cautious on how you use it. More and more users nowadays demand full feeds.

I also find so useful to tease clients on the phone about the amount of traffic their sites can get with some SEO. Mainly online tactics can be incorporated into the real business world. Cheers.

Teasers whether in pics or in text are pretty awesome.. With a single hit teaser title you could just ride on a enormous traffic wave so easily ..
Also to shorten the page length i’ve used peekaboo posts, i guess peekaboo mod is just for blogger, but it has a nice fade effect. Pretty much works for me …
