As a webmaster you require to know heaps of information to help improve your site, so I have searched and came up with 6 important webmaster tools that you will need.So here my list:

DigPageRank PR Checker.

PageRank checker will search among 700 databases to give you that magical number, but if you don’t have a PR then you can check this one out, here you will be given a predicted PR.

Website speed test

The 100m dash category, here you can time how fast your site will load up, it’s a good way to judge will people have the patience to wait for your large images and files to load up.

Backlink Watch

An excellent tool to calculate the number of backlinks your site has. In addition to the number of backlinks it will also show the PR, anchor text used for the backlink as well has the number of outward bound links of the pages that have links to your site. The information can take a while to process depending on quantity of backlinks to your site.

Website Grader

This tool can analyze your site and give it a score which depends on different factors domain age, social bookmarking information, PR, Technorati and many more.

SEOBook’s Google Rank Checker

Add your keyword and your site name and it will find your ranking for that particular word.

Webmaster’s Talks’ Alexa Rank Checker

Totally honest for Alexa I just stick with there official one at there website, had no issues so no need look around.

“DigPageRank PR Checker” and “Backlink watch” are brilliant finds. And Website speed test is priceless. By far the most important tool of them all. Great post.

Another useful webmaster tool i use is broken link checker .. Sometimes sure to improper tags, typos, double keypresses we tend to have broken links .. setting such broken links right could really help keep visitors to a blog..

my recent experience with a blogger from my city, he had a typo on his redirect from his old site to the new site. The best part was he was a PR5 bloggers with 10,0000 uniques per day .. Just imagine how much traffic he would’ve lost cos’ of the broken links ..

Also there are a lot of other such tiny webmaster tools, but very useful apps … I’ll try and post some links if i find them ..
